Privacy Policy

What this site collects about you, why, and what you can do about it.

Last updated: 25 October 2026

The short version

  • This site has no accounts, forms, comments or newsletter, so I never ask for your name or email.
  • I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other sites.
  • Your light/dark mode choice is saved in your own browser and never sent to me.
  • I don't sell your data, show adverts, or use advertising trackers.

Who I am

This website, senkawolf.com, is my personal website. I'm Ryan, also known as Senka Wolf, and I'm based in the United Kingdom. I'm responsible for any personal data collected through this site (the "data controller" under UK data protection law).

This policy covers senkawolf.com and the pages within it, including the website portfolio and the small projects under /random-code/.

What is collected and why

Visitor statistics

I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages are popular and whether the site loads quickly. When a page loads, a small script sends Cloudflare details such as the page address, the page you came from, your browser and device type, your approximate country and page load times.

Cloudflare Web Analytics doesn't set cookies, doesn't use your browser's local storage and doesn't fingerprint your device. I only ever see totals, never information about individual visitors. I rely on my legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used and keeping it working well.

Server logs

This site is hosted on my own server, senkawolf.cloud. Like almost every web server, it automatically records basic technical details for each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested and your browser type. A web application firewall (ModSecurity) also logs requests that look like attacks. These logs stay on my server and are used only for security, to stop abuse and to fix problems. They're deleted automatically when the server rotates its logs. I don't use them to identify visitors. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and running.

The server runs on infrastructure provided by DigitalOcean and is managed with the Lycanis OS control panel. You can read the server's privacy policy for full details of what it logs.

Contacting me on Discord

If you message me through my Discord server, I'll see your Discord username and anything you choose to send me. I only use that to reply to you. Discord handles those messages under the Discord Privacy Policy.

Cookies and local storage

This site doesn't set any cookies of its own.

When you use the light/dark switch, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the name mode, so the site remembers it next time. This value stays on your device. It's never sent to me or anyone else, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the site from bots and attacks. These aren't used for tracking or advertising.

Third-party services

The site itself is served from my own server, but some outside services are also involved:

  • DigitalOcean provides the server hardware my site runs on, so the site and its server logs are stored on their infrastructure. They don't use this data for their own purposes. See the DigitalOcean Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare receives your IP address and provides the visitor statistics described above. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
  • Public content delivery networks (jsDelivr, cdnjs, code.jquery.com and Google Fonts) receive your IP address. Some of the small projects under /random-code/ load code or fonts from these.

DigitalOcean, Cloudflare and some of these providers may handle data outside the UK. Where that happens, they use safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.

This site links to my social media profiles (such as YouTube, Twitch, X, Discord, Instagram, TikTok and GitHub), to client websites in my portfolio and to other external sites. These sites have their own privacy policies, and I'm not responsible for how they handle your data. Nothing from them loads until you click a link.

Selling and sharing

I don't sell, rent or trade personal data, and I don't use it for advertising or profiling. Data is only shared with the service providers listed above so they can run the site, or if I'm legally required to share it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to the following. Each right is explained in more detail on the GDPR page.

  • Access: ask for a copy of any personal data I hold about you.
  • Rectification: ask me to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: ask me to delete your data.
  • Restriction: ask me to limit how your data is used.
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Portability: receive your data in a commonly used format.

Because I don't collect names, emails or accounts, there's usually very little I can link to you. To make a request or ask a question, contact me through my Discord server. I'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Children

This site isn't aimed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to this policy

If the way this site handles data changes, I'll update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
